Ardeevin was a challenging project, in the fact there was an existing house on the site, which had to be removed to allow us to commence the build. We had to dig into the rock face to prepare the ground for this two storey architectural house over basement for Bernard & Aileen Walsh, designed by Deirdre Ryan Architect, Cork.

The house was on a sloped site and had challenges of its own, there was a lot of water permeating from the rock face, this itself was challenging for us as contractor’s to ensure that we diverted the water away from the building.

It was a traditional block build & plastered with k-rend, there was first floor balcony with views of the sea and feature windows. It has a 3rd floor internal mezzanine library & the basement was a utility / games room.

It was a pleasure for GPD to work with Bernard & Aileen & the design team.
